Eraser

Removing Static Objects from Image

Watermark Master provides ability to remove static objects from a video frame or graphics file. This operation is performed similarly to adding a watermark.

To remove a static object from an image, click ? button on the Watermark toolbar or open menu Watermark > Add > Eraser - a transparent rectangle will appear in the preview area of the main program window. Click and drag the rectangle on the object to be removed. Click and drag the rectangle borders to make the rectangle fit the object.

After an Eraser watermark is added, its properties become available in the "Properties" window.

Main

This section includes the main properties of the Eraser watermark.

  • Width - the width (in pixels).
  • Height - the height (in pixels).

Options.

This section includes optional properties of the Eraser watermark.

  • Mask - the type of the static object search. This parameter can take one of the following values:

    1. Preprocessing - this search type is applicable to video source files only. If selected, the source video will be preprocessed, which will allow to precisely determine the mask (static object's contour). In this case the following parameter become available:

      • Time Cell - the mask search range. This parameter can take one of the following values:

        1. All Video - if selected, the mask will be searched throughout the whole video file.

        2. Custom Time - if selected, the mask will be searched throughout the specified time interval. In this case the following parameter becomes available:

          • Time - the time (from the beginning of the source video) that the preprocessing will take (in hh:mm:ss.ms format, where hh - hours, mm - minutes, ss - seconds, ms - milliseconds).

    1. Color - if selected, the mask will be based on the specified color. This parameter is recommended for use when the unwanted static object is (almost) monochromatic.

      • Color - the color the mask will be based on. Click "..." button on the right of the "Color" caption to select the required color. Besides, you can select the color with the help of the Eyedropper tool. For that click button on the Watermark toolbar (or press "CTRL + P") and pick the required color directly from the image.

      • Tolerance - defines the range of colors for the mask. This parameter can take values from 0 to 255. A low value selects the few colors very similar to the color selected above. A higher value selects a broader range of colors.

    1. No mask - if selected, no mask will be used. All objects covered by the Eraser watermark will be removed. This type is especially effective when the static object is small.
